Hello, my name is Jerry Hampton. I am from The Pacific Northwest. I reside near Haines, located in Baker County Oregon. I grew up in Western Oregon raised in a logging and timber family and went to school at Yamhill, Oregon. I am the owner of Elkhorn Wildfire LLC. The business was started in April 2018 with the idea of managing risk and helping people to avoid loss of property and life as I have seen in other places over the years while being in the fire service.

I am currently the Fire Chief of The Haines Fire Protection District located in Haines Oregon. I have been the fire chief for 21 years and in the fire service, for now, going on 30 years as a volunteer. I hold a degree in Telecommunications. I worked in Telecom for over 40 years and retired from Telecom in May of 2020. I am currently working on my business and maintaining the fire chief position with Haines Fire. While being a volunteer firefighter and Chief of a Fire District I have learned to deal with stressful and dangerous situations. I also have learned how to communicate well with folks both from the fire service and my over 40-year career in Telecommunications. During my time in the fire service, I have had the privilege to meet and work with many fine outstanding individuals from all over the nation and to gain the experience to deal with all types of emergency situations. Over the years I have seen firsthand the devastation caused by wildfires & floods here locally and elsewhere IE-California, Washington & Idaho. What I have come to understand is that many people do not understand how to deal with and understand the impacts of these catastrophic events or trying to prevent them and they need outside help and guidance to avoid these emergencies from taking from them what they have worked so hard to build and enjoy in life or help to restore what has been lost.
